This is especially true if you color or highlight your hair—left unprotected, your color-treated tresses can start to resemble hay or straw after just a few hours in the sun.

Because of this, renowned stylist Mark Garrison says it's important to protect your hair and keep it moisturized before you head for a day at the beach or pool.

In shirts, skirts and dresses—even the denim tuxedo.

And suddenly it's OK again to wear denim on denim—if you dare.

We don't dare you, really, we don't.

Don't fret, you can still look fabulous at the beach and pool—in a swimsuit!

Still, if you're like many women, the thought of wearing a bathing suit in public is akin to wearing no clothes at all—the idea even more dreadful if you're packing a few extra pounds. Eek!

Really, relax. There are tons of options in the shape-solving arena. Every company from MiracleSuit and Victoria's Secret's Magicsuit to Lands' End and LLBean are making swimsuits that literally whittle away pounds giving the illusion of slimness—without dieting. No joke!

Let me introduce myself...

By Chloe L. May 11, 2010 1:31AM

ChloeHello, MSN readers! I am so excited to be joining the Simply Chic blogging team!

Writing about myself has never been my forte, so when I received a request to introduce myself to the lovely Simply Chic readers, I gulped a little bit in fear. I can write about fashion, but about myself? Not so easy.

So let's get to it!  My name is Chloe; I live in "colorful" Colorado with my darling husband Levi and our two chihuahua pups.

Where do you turn when every store is sold out? eBay!

Old Navy Cargo Pants; Photo courtesy OldNavy.comOK so am I like the last soul on Earth to own cargo pants?

Probably.

It's not like this is any new trend. But suddenly, I wanted a pair (I think this coincided with hearing fashion expert Nina Garcia tout cargo pants as the must-have casual pant of the season and I realized I didn't own a pair of the casual chic pants.)

Fresh Citron de Vigne Bath & Shower Gel; Photo courtesy of Fresh.comThere are not many bath products that I love so much that I cannot wait to use again and again.

Fresh is one of the few.

With names like Sugar, Sugar Lemon and Sugar Blossom, the products sound good enough to eat and smell sparkling and clean, but never overpowering.

I am convinced if you are stumped for a Mother's Day present, you will not go wrong with a gift from Fresh.

eBay; eBay.comeBay is upping the fashion ante.

The site, known as the largest online auctioneer and credited with revolutionizing the way people shop, has recently launched the Fashion Voice.

Not unlike how fashion magazines feature editors' must-have items, this section is where eBay's seven experts tout their fashion picks, trend advice and favorite finds of the season. The experts include style director Constance White, celebrity stylist Anabel Tollman, trend expert Karen Bard, as well as stylists Britt Bardo, Estee Stanley, Rebecca Weinberg and Kate Young.

Lingerie for your feet.

Givenchy Lace Open-Toe Ankle Boots; Photo courtesy Saks.comLingerie and boudoir-styles were all over the runway this spring, shown in abundance at shows like Valentino and Dior.  The looks the designers sent down the runway were gorgeous, lavish, tantalizing, and almost completely inappropriate for any of us to wear out in public.  Phooey!

But who doesn't like a little bit of lingerie and lace? It is the epitome of femininity, even if most of us prefer to keep it hidden under our clothing so as not to scare our co-workers, mail men, and nearby small children.

Thankfully, there are still ways to wear the trend without being risque.  My personal favorite way to wear it?
