Celebrities are clearly banking on back-to-school shopping!

On the stiletto heels of Madonna's Material Girl collection for Macy's comes Britney Spears' limited-edition collection for Candie's, exclusively at Kohl's and online.

The apparel and accessories collection is available now—while supplies last.  

It's almost the holiday weekend and if a mani/pedi is on your list of things to do, why not consider doing your nails yourself? 

You'll save money. It's a stress reliever. If you chip your nail color before Saturday, you'll have the bottle of nail polish to fix it yourself. And I can give you tips on how to do your own nails so it won't look like some drunk person did them (that actually happened to me once—at a salon!)

I know going to a salon is relaxing (I love those massage chairs, too!) and the polish should look perfect. I get it. OK, so if you won't try your own manicure and pedicure this weekend, promise me you'll try this soon.  

The term Material Girl immediately makes one think of Madonna and her hit song of the same title from 1985.

But the pop icon says her Material Girl apparel collection for Macy's is all about her daughter Lola.

"She's much more fashion-forward and savvy than I am at this point," Madonna says about Lola, with whom she's collaborating on the apparel and accessories collection launching Aug. 3.

 

Everyone knows Forever 21 makes cute and super-affordable clothes, but I am not sure how I didn't realize that Forever 21 has a beauty department. But while perusing the Fabulous Finds section found under the Features tab on the main page, I found this super-convenient and extremely affordable manicure set.

Happy Monday! Here's a really fab new lip gloss that's worth checking out for summer and beyond: Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss.

As the name suggests, it's a shot of pure color in a gloss. And why wear gloss, you may ask (if you're not already a gloss fanatic!)?

"Gloss brings a highlight and sensuality to the face. For me, a woman who wears a gloss looks like she wants to be kissed!" says Tom Pecheux, creative makeup director at Estee Lauder, who in addition to overseeing Pure Color, designed a limited-edition gloss collection just for summer. 

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't the biggest Madonna fan back in the day.

I was a teen then, obsessed with her music, especially Material Girl. She was my icon.

And now the pop queen is attempting to appeal to today's teens.

Playing off her image from the '80s and the iconic song from '85, Madonna is getting set to launch a clothing and accessories collection at Macy's in collaboration with her daughter Lourdes, also known as Lola.  

I went to a super fun event last night at Alibi Salon in NYC's SoHo neighborhood and nearly every gal was wearing short shorts—with heels.

You don't need me to tell you: This is one tough look to pull off. And they pulled it off.

Here's the key: perfectly toned, tanned legs. It was as if these gals live at the gym every day and maintain a tan 365 days out of the year.  

It's smoldering outside, literally. Today, it's supposed to hit the mid-90s. And it may be even hotter where you live. This heat can present a real style challenge—not to mention hair and makeup challenge.

I have to share this recent fashion score with you. It's what I'll wear today and perhaps the rest of the summer.
