The Material Girl may be about to launch a junior's clothing line at Macy's, but the grown-up Madonna is modeling in Dolce & Gabbana's Fall Winter 2011 advertising campaign. Shot by Steven Klein, the vintage-looking black and white photos depict the svelte singer in several natural scenes, and were inspired by the life of a typical woman and her role as a mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister and cousin.

It's already Friday and the weekend again! Here's something to cheer about: a free mascara. And it's not just any mascara. It's Lancome's latest mascara, Definicils Precious Cells, available exclusively at Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com.
If there's one thing Lancome knows, it's mascara.
This mascara is different in that it regenerates the condition of the lashes, reduces lash loss and makes your lashes look long and lush.
The mascara contains apple lysate, also found in the Absolue Precious Cells skin-care collection. And thanks to the helix-shaped brush, it covers every lash, ensuring maximum volume.

The latest cosmetics collaboration combines color, fun and whimsy.

M.A.C is known for its cutting-edge collaborations, and the latest summer release from Alice + Olivia is no exception. The cosmetics giant has teamed up with A+O, the fashion brand headed by Stacey Bendet and known for its playful mix of colors and textures as well as amazing pants, to deliver a fun, color-packed makeup collection. The lineup features a variety of must-have products including Dazzleglass Creme, $18, Pigment, $19.50, and Nail Lacquer, $12.
One might wonder how a designer like Bendet translated her fashion sense into makeup. "Well, to me, it's all about color, whether it's a crazy pair of striped bell bottoms or the perfect purple nail polish," Bendet says in a release. "It's about a girl having a great time when she dresses up; and who dresses up without makeup?"
Just because there's a heat wave doesn't mean you need to forgo style.

It's going to be real scorcher in NYC today. Temps are supposed to hit 102 degrees and it may be even hotter where you live. What a way to celebrate the end of a long weekend—thank you Mother Nature!
But back to what you can control. You can control what you wear. And on a hot sweltering day like today, it's imperative to dress smartly.
In a nutshell: Don't wear slenderizing black when it's boiling hot outside. You may look thinner, but you'll be dripping in sweat.

There's no excuse not to do your own nails—here's what you need.

It's almost the holiday weekend and if a mani/pedi is on your list of things to do, why not consider doing your nails yourself? You'll save money. It's a stress reliever. If you chip your nail color before Saturday, you'll have the bottle of nail polish to fix it yourself. And I can give you tips on how to do your own nails so it won't look like some drunk person did them (that actually happened to me once—at a salon!)
I know going to a salon is relaxing (I love those massage chairs, too!) and the polish should look perfect. I get it. OK, so if you won't try your own manicure and pedicure this weekend, promise me you'll try this soon.
