Last week, when zooming around town to hit up various New York fashion week festivities, I spent some Q.T. riding in the back of taxis with some seriously stylish editors, bloggers and store buyers. Since I had a captive audience on those rides, I did what I always do: I practice my stand-up routine. Kidding! No, I asked my fellow passengers to share their go-to beauty product. Turns out everyone is loving the same thing:
Moisturizing lip color and moisturizing blush. (The love of the plush stuff makes sense, considering the winter weather tends to dry out our skin, lips and face, at least here on the chilly Eastern seaboard.)

When Beth posted about Emmy Rossum's lovely ponytail, blog commenter amoscari noted something else about the pretty starlet's look: "The hair looks nice but can we talk about her eyeshadow? It's ORANGE! Whaaat is up with that?"

Yes, it's true: Emmy did choose an unusual light-orange eyeshadow color for this pre-Oscars party.

Between this snapshot of a model backstage at Naeem Khan's A/W12 runway show and Adele on the cover of March Vogue, I'm officially obsessed with '60s style winged cat eyeliner. O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D I tell you!

Oscar's red carpet gets most of the style coverage, but let's not forget the after-parties: They're just as fashionably festive, even if Ryan Seacrest isn't there to record them (or get pranked by Sacha Baron Cohen). Check out some of our favorite bold looks, from Heidi Klum to Serena Williams, from the 84th Academy Awards after-parties in Los Angeles on Feb. 26.

It's almost time for the fashion and beauty Super Bowl, the Academy Awards! Of the ten amazing women nominated in the lead and supporting actress categories, we've especially been loving the looks of five in particular: Michelle Williams, Rooney Mara, and Viola Davis; and newcomers Jessica Chastain and Bérénice Bejo.
