Next week, the very same thing could happen for another up-and-comer, when Barack Obama is inaugurated for his second term and Michelle Obama graces us with yet another gorgeous gown. So, who will have the honor? WWD says, "East Wing staffers reportedly requested samples from numerous designers for Michelle Obama’s Inauguration clothes," and "some of those names allegedly in the running," are:

- Barbara Tfank
- Bibu Mohapatra
- Derek Lam
- Jason Wu
- Laura Smalls
- Marchesa
- Michael Kors
- Naeem Khan
- Narciso Rodriguez
- Prabal Gurung
- Thakoon
- Tory Burch
- Tracy Reese
- Zero + Maria Cornejo

like the fact that Michelle is not using the usual snob list of designers and giving opportunity to new faces
