This time of year, we’re all about pairing tights with skirts and dresses to keep our stems from freezing and falling off. And actually, we think patterned tights can look pretty chic overall. But brace yourselves, ladies, because a new pattern has made its debut—and it’s probably not a look you’ve seen before.

Introducing Melting Tights, a line of handmade hosiery complete with latex applique that makes you look like you just spent the day either a) participating in a serious paintball match, and you lost b) painting your parent’s garage or c) getting an early start on next year’s Halloween costume.

The tights come in 14 different styles including Silver Melt Meltingtights “Limited Edition” tight, the “Multitone Bubblegum tight” (which kind of looks like a pile of melted, already-been-chewed gum in various colors, all mashed together) and a very bright neon yellow version, to name a few.Photo: URB

The tights will cost you around $55-$60 per pair.

8 wardrobe staples to buy now that will only get better with age

Three summers ago, I bought a pair of soft, white-calfskin Chanel loafers. I spent months trying to keep them pristine, but it wasn’t long before a July thunderstorm left them and me soaked. I began steeling myself for what I thought was inevitable: a solemn drop in the trash. I started to wear them freely—taking on puddles and tossing them onto the sand at the beach—and before long, they transformed. The roughened toe-tops reminded me of a welcoming, worn armchair, and a wet-and-hot summer had molded the material perfectly to my feet.
