Would You Run a Race in Stilettos?

By Kim Anne Aug 9, 2012 3:21PM

At the end of a long day, we can’t wait to take off our high heels, so we can’t imagine people who want to wear then while they workout!

But alas, dozens of brave ladies strapped on their stilettos in Moscow, Russia for an annual 50 meter race. The race required women to wear a minimum of 3.5 inch heels for the duration, with the winner taking home the grand prize of $3,000.

This certainly isn’t the first high heel race that we’ve seen—after all, celebs including Kelly Rippa and AnnaLynne McCord ran a race in New York City last year called The High Heel-A-Thon.

But we’re starting to see even more sky-high heel races being held. It looks fun, yes—but it also looks painful and kind of dangerous. Check out this video on Euronews! These ladies got so competitive, they were duct taping the shoes to their feet. We’re sure there were more than a few twisted ankle injuries after this event.
