7 things every woman should have in her purse
An Emmy award winning stylist told me exactly what I should carry in my purse this party season.
by Nikki Ogunnaike
I caught up with two-time Emmy award winning stylist and costume designer, Soyon An, and she gave me the scoop on exactly what I should be carrying (aside from minimal makeup) in my purse this holiday party season. Since she's worked with everyone from Jordin Sparks and Mariah Carey to Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift we should all consider this advice as a gift from the styling gods. Here's what she suggested:

Travel size Static Guard: Aside from its keep-clothes-cling-free use, you can also tame flyaway hair by spraying Static Guard on a brush before styling your hair or you can spray it on your fingertips and use it to tease and add volume to your hair. Who doesn't love a 3-in-1 product?

Static Guard, $3, drugstores nationwide
Fashion tape: Strapless dress on the move? Use this to keep your top in place. If you hem falls out, you can also use this to reinforce it. As for that pesky lint or dog hair on your shirt, sticky tape will remove it in a snap. Soyon recommends keeping about six pieces in your purse.

Mini brush or comb: After dance (or drink) number 3 you'll probably want to get your hair in order.

John Frieda mini hair brush, $6, target.com
A small notebook and pen: I love my iPhone as much as the next gal, but let's be honest -- sometimes it fails you. Keep these old school instruments of communication on you so you can slip that cute guy your number.

Moleskine, $10, threadsence.com
Mints: Quick! You're caught under the mistletoe. Pop one and you'll be ready to go.
Emergen C packets: Well...because you can never be too careful with all of those mistletoe-induced smooches.

Emergen C, $5, walgreens.com
Travel size Crazy Glue: 'Tis the season of rhinestones, but one false move and those suckers will pop off. A tiny dab will put it right back in its place.
And if you're wondering what size bag you should carry all this stuff in, allow me to introduce you to this grey glitter Camridge Satchel number. A little splurg-y, but trust me, you'll get a ton of use out of it.

The Cambridge Satchel Company Satchel Glitter, $180, bloomingdales.com
