After all, she somehow always manages to look chic, and we can’t imagine she will look anything short of stunning in her royal maternity wear.

Kate has been a huge fan of designer Alexander McQueen (she even chose the designer to create her wedding dress) and it seems that her love for McQueen is going to continue while she’s expecting.  The Duchess of Cambridge attended BBC's annual Sports Personality Of The Year Awards Monday night to present Bradley Wiggins and London 2012 chief Lord Coe with a SPOTY trophy and the Lifetime Achievement award, and she wore an emerald colored McQueen gown to the event.

The floor-length gown featured bell sleeves and a v-neckline, and we can’t help but notice, she looked flawless. With just the tiniest little baby bump showing, she pulled off the dress, making us that much more excited to see what she wears as her bump gets significantly bigger. Will she continue to rock McQueen designs? Only time will tell.

Tell us: What do you think of Kate’s dress?

It isn't a maternity dress. It's a normal dress that's being worn by a woman who is in the early stages of pregnancy. It will be a while before she'll need true "maternity" clothes.

8 wardrobe staples to buy now that will only get better with age

Three summers ago, I bought a pair of soft, white-calfskin Chanel loafers. I spent months trying to keep them pristine, but it wasn’t long before a July thunderstorm left them and me soaked. I began steeling myself for what I thought was inevitable: a solemn drop in the trash. But once the loafers dried, I found the shoes’ stained stitching—now storm-cloud gray—was lovely and a few new wrinkles in the leather were charming, like smile lines for shoes. I started to wear them freely—taking on puddles and tossing them onto the sand at the beach—and before long, they transformed. The roughened toe-tops reminded me of a welcoming, worn armchair, and a wet-and-hot summer had molded the material perfectly to my feet.
