American Apparel’s Newest Model is 60 Years Old
Clothing brand American Apparel is known for their hot, young models showing off tight spandex ensembles, but this week, they shocked all of us when the switched up their usual ads for something totally different.
The brand threw us all for a loop when they revealed the latest face of their “advanced basics line,” 60-year-old Jacky O’Shaughnessy. With her long, grey hair, she’s not what you would expect a typical American Apparel model to look like, based on their past ad campaigns, which is actually quite refreshing.
According to Fashionista.com, she was discovered by the clothing brand on the street in NYC after recently moving back to the city—and this campaign marks her foray into the modeling world (yep, it’s her first modeling job).
Tell us: Are you surprised American Apparel is using a 60 year old in their campaign?

How to Age Like a Supermodel
I'm sixty and so glad to see them using mature women to model clothes. It is so hard to see what we would look like on some of the younger styles or just funky styles. I applaud American Apparel for stepping it up a notch. I love it!
WE are not old just seasoned. BR
Totally happy you a using a 60 year old models. There are still some of us who dont want to go out looking like teen wanabes, I am forever searching for designs that look hip with some class tossed in. We want to be looked upon as chic and modern, not too old to be wearing our daughters clothes. Keep up the good work!!!
It's about time they make room for the older generation. They need to put a hot guy in there with her though to balance it out.
Usually we see it old, fat, pregnant guys everyday on movies, adds, commercials. Most of the time with a very young sexy girl.... my 9 years old daughter asked me many times why so much ugly guys and a lot of pretty girls? why not?!! This lady is pretty and sexy! They just missed the young sexy and hot guy by her side!!!
