Fly the New Hello Kitty-Designed Aircraft

By Kim Anne May 2, 2012 5:57PM

The fascination with Sanrio’s Hello Kitty seems to be increasing as she ages, and the latest venture to incorporate the kitten theme is upping the ante.

Now, you can really fly in “style” in a new plane that is designed, tip to tail, with the Hello Kitty motif.

According to Buzzfeed, Taiwan-based Eva Airlines and Sanrio (the creators of Hello Kitty) have collaborated to launch a Hello Kitty-themed aircraft.

The design starts with the outside of the plane, that pays homage to the kitty with her mug all over the exterior. But that’s only the beginning.

Step inside the gate and you’ll be inundated with the feline’s face—everything from the check-in kiosks to the soap dispensers is covered in Hello Kitty. Even the food is shaped with the cartoon’s face.

The Daily Mail claims the thematic flight will include more than 100 specially designed Hello Kitty items on board, and passengers will also be able to purchase limited edition duty-free products (who doesn’t need some Hello Kitty-shaped pasta in their lives?) from flight attendants wearing—what else--Hello Kitty aprons.

Tell us: Do you want to take a ride on the Hello Kitty plane?

"Tell us: Do you want to take a ride on the Hello Kitty plane?"

NO!  By the end of the flight I would be climbing the walls to try to get away from all that!

Where do they find the investment capital for ideas like this?!?!  Or is it just some really rich person with more money than sense and a bizarre, twisted Hello Kitty fetish???
