Pregnant models walk the runway in sexy maternity lingerie
Models turn heads at Lingerie Fashion Week.
Models walking the runway wearing sexy lingerie is really nothing groundbreaking. It pretty much happens every day (hello, Victoria’s Secret!). But models walking the runway in maternity lingerie that is actually sexy — and not just frumpy — is a whole different ball game.
The models during Lingerie Fashion Week in New York proved that maternity lingerie doesn’t have to be granny-like — quite the opposite, in fact. According to The Daily Mail, You! Lingerie’s maternity collection contained several head-turning pieces. Attendees were struck not only by the very pregnant models themselves — women from pregnant professional talent agency Expecting Models, Inc, but they were also awestruck by the general attractiveness of the line. Colorful bras and underwear accessorized with decorative bows other chic elements were definitely far from some of the limited maternity lingerie lines of the past.
Living celeb style: Who wore this crazy maternity wear? “Beautiful maternity lingerie no longer needs to be a dream, in fact, we demand for it to be a necessity,” said You! Lingerie founder and CEO, Uyo Okebie-Eichelberger in a statement. “No expecting or breastfeeding mom ever has to wear frumpy lingerie or break the bank to feel and look sexy.” She continued that Lingerie Fashion week was the perfect place to debut their innovative designs. “We have worked really hard, so we are very proud to flaunt our gorgeous maternity and nursing products on the catwalk and Lingerie Fashion Week is an impeccable avenue to do that.”

To get the scoop on quick office party beauty tricks, we turned to Landy Dean, celebrity makeup artist at Marie Robinson salon. His simple tutorial requires only a handful of products, starting with the darkest, inkiest eyeliner you can find. Dean swears by the Nars Larger Than Life liners smudged over the waterline and lashline, topped off with a few coats of Maybelline The Falsies mascara. Before you dash off to apply product, there’s one small step that involves removing makeup. “If your foundation and concealer have caked or creased, I recommend a quick removal with a cleansing towelette and a redo to avoid heavy looking skin,” he cautions. For those who would prefer to go the easy route, apply a hydrating moisturizer using a stippling motion and a sponge. Finish the look with a dusting of BareMinerals Mineral Veil—“this will even out discolorations and give a reflective finish that still looks natural”—swap your work bag for a chic clutch, and get ready to ring in the season.
