Is Brooklyn the new Paris?
Then it's fitting that this fabulous French boutique is opening there!
by Amy Wicks
Before you call me crazy, allow me to explain why my favorite New York borough is being compared more often these days with the City of Light (oh, and clearly I'm not the only one who is on to the trend!).
*The popular farmers markets
*The bustling corner cafes. Five Leaves is one of my go-to spots.
*The vibrant culture (one of my favorite all-time date nights is eating fried broccoli tacos at No. 7 and then spending the evening at the Brooklyn Academy of Music)
And now, even French fashion labels are joining in on this trend!
Sandro, the chic French fashion boutique chain that I regularly stalk online, is opening a store in Williamsburg in the fall! One of my most prized fashion items just happens to be a floral shirt that I bought last summer from a Sandro store in Corsica, so I'm kind of excited to hear I will be able to shop without cashing in more frequent-flier miles!

Here are a few more looks from the new collection that I'm loving.
"My personal style is to feel good in my clothes every day," said Evelyne Chetrite, the women's creative director at Sandro, who has created a look for fall that I will be scooping up very soon!

As a Francophile, I know that Brooklyn has a long way to go before it becomes the perennial hot spot that Paris has always been, but it will be interesting to see which labels follow Sandro in the borough. I'll keep you updated!
Have you ever shopped at Sandro? Do you think there is any merit to the comparison between Brooklyn and Paris? Discuss!
