Crazy new hair treatment

Would you go to this extreme for shiny, healthy hair?

People have always gone to great lengths for shiny, healthy hair. But a new salon in Santa Monica, California, just might take the cake. TheBroot, a hair-treatment bar that specializes in all-natural hair masks, just told us they've got a new, miracle ingredient for healing damaged strands. And it's so crazy, they're not even putting it on the menu.

Starting in February, if you ask for any treatment "animal style," they'll mix a shot of bull-testicle broth into your hair mask. Yes, you read that right: bull testicle broth (I'm sorry if you just ate lunch). The ingredient, which has been passed down through generations to TheBroot owner Samira Asemanfar, supposedly strengthens and repairs the outer layers of the hair and stimulates hair growth. They cook the testicles down to a broth to extract the nutrients, and then they add an ounce of the brew to each mask. And, because it was the first thing we thought of, they promise it doesn't affect the smell of the mask. But here's our other issue: Can you do this treatment if you're a vegetarian?

If it works, we'll be the first ones to eat our words (not the treatment), but for now we're just saying this smells a lot like something that rhymes with schmimmick. Tell us, would you try this treatment?

11 style rules to break right now

You already know wearing white after Labor Day is cool. But menswear is reinventing itself rapidly, leaving some long-held mandates by the wayside, not to mention a bunch of men with a lot of questions. Sure, some style laws are truly inviolable. Showing a quarter-inch of cuff will always be crucial, but with designers and dandies flaunting so many former taboos it's hard to tell what's in play these days. So we thought we'd take this opportunity to let you know which rules no longer apply.

    Cool wedding beauty ideas

It’s time for bridal beauty to loosen up. Hair doesn’t have to be tightly wound, makeup perfectly contoured, and nails French manicured (on this last point, really, please don’t). You can, in fact, look gorgeously and timelessly cool at your wedding. Here’s how.
