Women in Japan are renting out their legs for advertising space

New trend in advertising: Using bare legs to promote brand awareness.

Photo: via odditycentral.comRenting billboard space in prime locations may have been the old way to advertise, but these days, Japan is scouting out new space to rent for their advertising campaigns. According to the Daily Mail, enterprising firms have rented ad space on a Japanese woman’s bare legs, paying her to wear a miniskirt 8 hours a day to display their advertising.

The Daily Mail reports that in order to participate, a woman will get her leg stamped with an ad, then go about her daily life, but make sure she is constantly wearing a short skirt to show off the branding.

The woman must also take a picture of her leg with the advertising on it so that the company knows they are doing their job.

This unique form of advertising is definitely an interesting concept, but is it affective? It is certainly an attention-getter.

Tell us: What do you think of this concept?

can't see any difference in this and all the t shirts and sweat shirts with product logos and info on them, It is actually hard to buy one without some form af advertising on them and the general public seem to think they are better with some type of logo on them like Addidas, Old Navy Etc. than they are plain. At least there the wearer is getting paid, the way we do it, we are paying them to were their advertisements. So who are the smart ones here?

What's the difference between this and all those losers out there with tattoos?  At least they're getting paid and it washes off.

Being all too familiar with the kinds of preverts out there, I'm wondering what will be the reaction when some guy bends down to look closely because (he says) the print is too small? Or will they next want to advertise on her inner thigh so you can see the ad when she sits down and crosses her legs? Can you imagine the rush to place ads over  practically every square inch of a girl in a bikini at the beach? Will they pay extra if the girl wears the bikini other places than the beach?  Have fun working around existing tattoos.

"OK Buster. Turn around, close your eyes, and tell me exactly what the ad said that you claim you were reading."

I can see it now, some woman walking down the street with a Pepsi ad on her leg. A man is caught staring at her leg, and is the object of her wrath "hey A** WIPE  my eyes are up here"
