Almost 90 percent of Fashion Week models are white
Latest runway stats find that most models used during fashion weeks across the globe are white.
Fashion Week may come with a diverse set of clothes on the runway, but that’s not the case for the models who wear them.
According to Buzzfeed, 87.6 percent of models that walked during Fashion Month (including shows scattered throughout London, New York, Milan and Paris), had light-colored skin.

And to further explore the situation, Jezebel used the data from Style.com's coverage of the shows to analyze the racial breakdown of New York’s runways, discovering that 82.7 percent of runway models were white, 9.2 percent were Asian models, and only six percent were black models. Jezebel found that of all the cities to host Fashion Week, New York was the most diverse of the four cities, but still predominantly white, with 79.4 percent of fashion week jobs getting assigned to white models.
