The most man-repelling trend for fall and the one beauty trick to take a risk on
Leandra Medine on fall's most man repelling trend and risk taking beauty.
Man Repeller blogger, #Armparty starter, and fashion designer Leandra Medine now has one more bullet point to add to her résumé: book author. The native New Yorker held a signing party at Barneys Upper West Side to fête her style memoir, Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls.

GLAMOUR: What do you think is the most man-repelling fall trend?
Leandra Medine: The fabric chokers, all the neckerchiefs. It’s very like "Girl With the Red Ribbon." [This old scary campfire story, read at your own risk.] Like if you take that off are you going to die?
GLAMOUR: What's one outfit you wore that you thought might be man repelling, but your husband actually liked?
LM: Almost everything that I’ve ever been drawn to, my husband has embraced. His style is more man repelling than mine is. Like I come home in these enormous pants and he's like, "whoa, sexy pants." And I’m like, really though? Sexy? Like they’re cool, but they’re not sexy.
GLAMOUR: So what's one adventurous fall trend that you'd suggest our readers take a risk on?
LM: There are a lot of very very bright lips [this season]. Like brighter than ever, like orange and pink. I feel like I was always afraid of wearing red lipstick because I thought I looked like Frida Kahlo, and I’m not sure why I thought that was a bad thing. But I have found that red lipstick makes me feel really powerful. So I suggest that all women try it.
