Gisele continues to be very hot -- and very rich
The supermodel makes the Forbes list of highest-paid models in the industry (again).
We envy her for her flawless good looks that never seem to fade and the fact that she’s bounced back into perfect form after having two kids. But to add to the list of reasons why life is not fair unless you’re Gisele, Forbes just released its annual list of top 10 highest-paid models — and she’s made the list, yet again. Yep, on top of all the other reasons that we love but loathe her, Gisele Bundchen is still rich.

According to Forbes, the former Victoria’s Secret angel raked in an estimated $42 million last year, which is $3 million less than she made last year, but still way more than any other model on the list. Not to worry, though, she’s not struggling for funds anytime soon. After all, this is the seventh year in a row she has topped the list.
Forbes credits her success to her many endorsements, including contracts with Brazilian footwear company Grendene (she also owns part of this company), her cosmetics line Sejaa, and international campaigns with Pantene, Oral-B and Sky HDTV. And let’s not forget about her Chanel and H&M campaigns this year. “Our earnings estimates are based on editorial shoots, independent licensing ventures, spokesperson gigs and contracts from beauty and fashion companies from June 2012 to June 2013,” Forbes reports.

No. 2 on the list of the year’s richest models are Miranda Kerr (who can also thank Victoria’s Secret for her rise to fame), who made $7.2 million. She has deals with Quantas, David Jones and Mango to thank. Kerr also has her own cosmetics line, called Kora, which launched in Asia this year.
In addition to gigs with stateside companies, such as Victoria's Secret, which have helped these models rise to fame, Forbes says many of the models on the list are flourishing due to international endorsements.
“Because international exposure is so much greater in value, there’s been this sudden shift in the industry where models are all finding ways to expand their brands and partnerships. It’s a smart business model for them,” says Ed Razek, the president and chief marketing office of Limited Brands, Victoria’s Secret’s parent company. “Our contracts are based on the way senior business leaders are paid, which is on incentive compensation. So it’s in the best interest of our business, and in the best interest of these models to perform at the highest level possible that they possibly can,” said Razek.
