Jennifer Lopez's New Friend: A $2.1 Million Ring

By Kim Anne Apr 6, 2012 7:54PM

Jenny from the block made yet another fashion statement this week on Wednesday’s episode of American Idol, where she distracted us all with a new sparkler.

The star was showing off a yellow-diamond ring from Cora Jewelers, and it wasn’t cheap.

According to People.com, the 50.40 carat gem, accented in 18-karat yellow gold with ebony wood, comes with a price tag of $2.1 million.

But lucky for the rest of the world, you don’t have to be a celeb to score this gem (although clearly you do have to be loaded)—it will soon be available for purchase on the jeweler’s site.

Tell us: What do you think of Jennifer Lopez’s new bling?

And here I sit, an unemployed veteran, single father who wishes he could afford to take his kids to the zoo. I read stories like this and think, this is the freedom I almost gave my life for? I would do it again without hesitation. But reading this still feels like a punch in the gut.

Disgraceful, but the odds are that she didn't actually pay that much for it, if she paid anything at all.  It might even be on loan to give the jeweler some advertising, which they got because the article says it's for sale on the jeweler's site.

But for anyone who has 2.1 mil to spend on a ring, how about putting a bunch of girls through college, or paying for dental care for low income or homeless people.  There are so many better ways to spend your wealth.

I think she should spend her money on helping the unfortunate instead of ridiculous large rings. 2.1 million can feed ALOT of people...Just my opinion I think Jenny from the block forgot where she came from.

Jennifer,2.1 million on a ring? I think as an empowered women it would benefit to giving back to your community and Im sure that where you grew up from there is at least 1 family that could use shelter, food or a education that would cost way less than half of something you will probably only wear once. When your finished with this bauble do you think maybe you could return it and get the money back and set up a scholarship for someone who really could benefit from it? I know you have a khols clothing line, and they have nice rings there for  $ 19.99 Maybe you could find something there you might like?
If not come to Adrian, MI. We have plenty of young Latinas who could use a charitable contribution to further their education, need child care and are struggling to put food on the table.
Just a thought,Congratulations on your hard earned success and may you continue to be able to afford such luxuries many of us will never see in our lifetime.

She is a harlot. She's shacked up with so many dudes that the significance of marriage has become meaningless to her. She trivializes the sanctity of marriage, which is a slap in the face to those who have been married for the last 30, 40, or 50 years. Maybe she's just one of those people who can never be alone and always has to have someone around her, constantly reassuring her that she's beautiful. My stomach hurts when I see her in the news nowadays.

She bought a 2.1 million dollar ring??That much money could feed hundry kids everywhere....or be given for research for ALS, AIDS & many diseases that need cures...given to build houses for people in new orleans. Sorry,,, but I just dont think that much money should be on someones ring finger. Its the ultimate head trip. I would be afraid to wear that and loose it,,,it would just bother me,,,,I would feel guilty wearing something that expensive on a finger even if I was rich and could afford it. Its just way over the top.  I totally loved that princess Diana auctioned off all of her dresses and things when she was a princess and donated it all to charity.
