Wet Seal has hired a teenage girl with Down Syndrome to be the face of its latest advertising campaign. According to the Daily Mail, 17-year-old Karrie Brown won the attention of the brand after posting photos to Wet Seal’s Facebook page.
After the photo garnered a ton of attention from the brand’s followers, Wet Seal contacted Brown and invited her to a photoshoot at its California headquarters, granting her an in-store shopping spree, a professional styling session and even a trip to Disneyland as well.
“She was hilarious. They had her in the first outfit and she's standing there with the white screen behind her . . . and I thought she was going to get upset because she didn't know what to do,” her mother Sue told Today. “She'd never had a professional photo shoot before. [But] all she said was, "Can I have some Justin Bieber music, please?" So they played some Justin Bieber and she just took off.”
And social media followers of Karrie couldn’t be happier that her dreams are coming true. “I'm so happy for you Karrie! Follow your dreams and never give up! When you make one dream come true, make another... keep going and reach for the sky! You're doing amazing!! Said one fan on Facebook.
