Models cuddle up with polar bears during bizarre fashion show
Moncler show features live animals and people in polar bear costumes.
There may have been a lot of attendees ogling over the Moncler runway show in Paris this week, but it wasn’t just a fascination with the chic coats. The brand got attention by incorporating a cuddly addition to the runway.
According to Fashionista, the show kicked off with models walking down a snow-covered runway equipped with leased Siberian Huskies. Then, later in the show, their accessories were not necklaces or strange hats, but rather people dressed in polar bear costumes hugging the cold-looking models.

But this isn’t the first time Moncler has pulled off a buzzed-about runway show. Just a few weeks ago in New York City, the brand had fashion-types buzzing after featuring hundreds of models on risers for the show, and just last year, they kicked off their fall 2012 collection on an ice skating rink.

We love their innovative runway props. Models cuddling bears—not something you see every day. Sure beat the average runway show with straight-faced models doing that same walk, over and over again, no?

When morning talk shows and local newspapers dole out their seasonal swimsuit shopping advice, I’m usually pretty disappointed by the lack of body types represented. What about the women who don’t resemble fruit? (Or aren’t boy-shaped—the third “one of these things is not like the other” category I’ve never quite understood. Couldn’t they say “banana?” Or is that somehow more offensive than “apple” and “pear” shapes?)
