Foot Fetish: World’s Largest Shoe Store Opens
Those who have a shoe obsession, beware—this news may have you hankering to book a flight to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Level Shoe District, a brand new store that opened on Friday, is officially now the world’s largest shoe store. The 96,000-square-foot space contains 15,000 styles of shoes for men and women, including a selection of luxury brands (think Christian Louboutin and Gucci) and lower-priced brands for a total of 250 various designers.
"The whole idea is to create a place for men and women who love shoes, who are passionate about shoes, who are addicted to shoes, who are obsessed about shoes," Patrick Chalhoub, chief executive of Chalhoub Group said to Bloomberg.
Before this store opened, it was Macy’s who claimed to hold the “world’s largest shoe store” title, with its 39,000 square feet of space that opened earlier this year, less than half the size of the new Dubai store.
We’re guessing in order to conquer this giant space on foot, you’re going to want to wear flats.
