How to get Claire Danes’ Emmy hair
Danes tries a faux bob for this year’s awards.
Claire Danes rocked a new hairstyle last night at the Emmy Awards to complement that fantastic pale frock of hers, leaving many people wondering if she lopped off her locks. But as it turns out, Danes fooled us all by rocking a faux bob instead.
According to Fashionista, she didn’t get a cut at all, she is still sporting those long locks of hers. But for the red carpet, hairstylist Peter Butler created the crafty little look, using a curling iron and some hair pins.
In other words, Danes chose a commitment-free new look for the evening, which we’re obsessed with. How did she get the look and how on earth can we recreate it? Simple.
Butler started the process by smoothing Danes’s hair with Frizz-Ease Thermal Protection Formula Hair Serum and Frizz-Ease Curl Reviver Styling Mousse to add texture and shine.

Then, he gave her a low side part and used a large-barreled curling iron to curl large sections of hair inward. After that, it’s easy—just create two small pin curls like Butler did at the nape of the neck to hide some of the strands, then comb top of hair down and under, pinning into the base.
Give it a little spritz of hairspray and voila! A faux bob to call your very own, scissor-free.
