Oscar de la Renta says he’s to thank for Hillary Clinton’s new ‘do
The favorable haircut was the suggestion of the designer.
Designer Oscar de la Renta says you can thank him for Hillary Clinton’s latest hairdo. During an interview with Gotham Magazine, he says he takes credit for suggesting that the former secretary of state try something new.
“I told her a while back [when she was secretary of state] she should cut her hair,” he told Gotham Magazine. “She said she couldn't do it then because when she arrived in a foreign country and asked for a hairdresser, Homeland Security would have to check the person out. [Editor's note: With long hair, she could style it herself.] But doesn't she look fantastic now?”
INSPIRED LIFE: Women who inspire us
But it’s no surprise the two are sharing style tips, given their ongoing friendship and support for one another. This summer, Hillary and former President Bill Clinton threw him a bash in Arkansas in honor of the “Oscar de La Renta: An American Icon” retrospective at the William J. Clinton Presidential Center. And at the CFDA Awards earlier this year, de la Renta voiced his desire publicly to have Hillary Clinton serve as the next president of the United States. “I love Hillary,” he told Gotham. “She’s extraordinary, a symbol of where women want to go. I assume we will have a woman president soon.”

Her new do looks great, but I still wouldn't want her as president. Benghazi Benghazi
Benghazi Benghazi Benghazi. Nuff said.
Only hope is for some other party to put someone forth that has some appearance of being able to lead this country to solidarity again. Otherwise this will be the third presidential election that we have had to try and make a choice of who is the least worse candidate.
All this country needs after Obama is a closet gay as president. But then you have to wonder as bad as the choices have been the last two elections how rigged has politics really became and who is actually running this country. Representative of the people or a orchestrated farce on the american people.

To get the scoop on quick office party beauty tricks, we turned to Landy Dean, celebrity makeup artist at Marie Robinson salon. His simple tutorial requires only a handful of products, starting with the darkest, inkiest eyeliner you can find. Dean swears by the Nars Larger Than Life liners smudged over the waterline and lashline, topped off with a few coats of Maybelline The Falsies mascara. Before you dash off to apply product, there’s one small step that involves removing makeup. “If your foundation and concealer have caked or creased, I recommend a quick removal with a cleansing towelette and a redo to avoid heavy looking skin,” he cautions. For those who would prefer to go the easy route, apply a hydrating moisturizer using a stippling motion and a sponge. Finish the look with a dusting of BareMinerals Mineral Veil—“this will even out discolorations and give a reflective finish that still looks natural”—swap your work bag for a chic clutch, and get ready to ring in the season.
