Did you love Selena Gomez's look at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday? It wasn't just her peekaboo navy Atelier Versace stunner that caught our eye. We loved her matching navy cat eye, too. Celebrity makeup artist Gita Bass was responsible for the look, and she gave us the scoop on how to get it.

For the singer's popping peepers, she used Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 3L ($19; sephora.com) and gradually layered the deep blue liner over and under the lash line, passing the outer corner of the eye to create a cat eye.

Bass then topped off Gomez's top and bottom lashes with two coats of Volume Effect Faux Cil Mascara by YSL ($30; sephora.com). To contrast the navy, she painted the lips a pretty pop of magenta, courtesy of Tom Ford Lip Color in Black Orchid ($49, neimanmarcus.com), a perfect complement to the deep navy tones.
