The Ittiest

A new bra company for an old complaint.

By Kathryn Wexler Apr 8, 2009 2:39AM

We've had our consciousness raised over the hardship of Rubenesque women finding great plus-size garments. But what about the tiniest among us?

We're talking about the long neglected owners of itty bitties, those barely-there bosoms.

We are demanding respect! Underscoring our humanity!

And begging for a bra that fits.

Itty bitties just don't sit right in regular brassieres. The larger the band size, the larger the cups. So if you require a bra over a size 32, there's usually a lot of extra room in there.

And when you get into the smallest cups, underwire is a rarity. Just because we're little doesn't mean we're not looking for perkiness, hello.

What's more, we don't want to fake it by stuffing gelatinous wedges under our shirts.

For too long have we have we hankered for a bra to call our own. And now we have one.

From Irvine, California, comes a new line of bras constructed just for us. It's the aptly named Itty Bitty Bra. Smallness is its specialty, and cups go from size AA to B. No starter bras, these. The garments are very well designed, with underwire and wide-set shoulder straps. Cut low beneath the armpit and also low across the bust, they come in a handful of solids and a couple of prints. They're light on the padding but not so much so that you need fear a cool breeze.

At $50 to $55 a pop, these puppies don't come cheap. But they do coax some semblance of cleavage from even the ittiest of itty bitties.

And what's it worth finally to be able to say: My cups spilth over? At ittybittybra.com.

I support you all the way about the implants.  They will make you feel so much sexier and happier afterward.  Go for a C cup.  Let me know how you make out.

Many women ended up undergoing breast augumentations because they felt too self-conscious with small breasts.

Thanks for this. My bra size has not changed since I was in high school and I'm 31! Sad but true... Cheers - Kaya Cassan

It is very Hard to Find Bras in K's

I am a 4'10 inch, and I was (IN THE Past) currently wearing a 46C per the Major Department Stores.  Well I was watching the show "The Doctors" They had a lady on whom did bra fittings, In Southern California which is in my area I live and I did not know they were there.  I went to see them and they fitted me in a 32 K  yes, ladies a ( K ) yes, they are real.  I could not believe I would ever have my breast up so high like I have them now.  This shop is in Southern California and it is called "A Perfect Fit Fine Lingerie" the two ladies in the shop know there bras, I can say this they are very stricked how a bra should fit a person.  I have been shopping this place since Feb. 6th 2009 and when they get new bras inmy size, one of the ladies do call me to see if I would like to try it on or if I would like to purchase the bra.  I have to say Thank you so much for making my breast look great again.

I wear a 32A (sometimes 32AA depending on the bra), and I found the perfect bra a couple years ago - the maidenform dream push-up bra. Fits great, only $22 each at the maidenform outlet stores. I haven't bought a bra at Victoria's Secret in a few years now since I found them. I might check out this itty bitty company, although if they're $50 and the maidenforms are $22, I dunno if I'll switch :P

I am a 32AA on the verge of being a AAA.  I like lulalu.com, found that the lulalu brand fit me really well.  They sell petite lingerie and celebrate that small is beautiful...makes me feel good about myself!  Not sure about being considered Itty Bitty...the name cracks me up though.

I'm 5'6" and a 34A (yeah, all you people with the DD's complaining about the back pain, it could be worse, at least you're getting noticed) and I can totally vouch for the Maidenform, push-up/padded/underwire bra.  It's a push-up, so you can actually get some cleavage; padded, so you have a uniform round look to your breast; and the underwire is terrific because it keeps everything in place.  After years of awful bra buying experiences, I've found my kind, and I'm never going back.

What to wear on every kind of date

It’s the best and worst time to be a single girl in the dating world. On the one hand, past generations of women didn’t have the freedom, financial independence, access to birth control (depending on your state and employer, of course), or plethora of options to meet new people—online and off—that we enjoy today. On the other hand, they also didn’t have to worry about sexting, selecting the best selfie for their profile picture, or accidentally swiping right on a coworker.
