Liu Xianping, a 72-year-old grandfather, has become a sensation practically overnight, after he posed in a series of photographs in outfits meant for young women.
The outfits, which came from Xianping’s granddaughter’s fashion store, Yuekou, include chenille scarves, pink sunglasses, handbags and striped tights, with no shortage of girly accents like lace and embellishments.

But the photographs were not exactly meant to go viral. The shots were taken as a joke, but soon created a worldwide sensation after they were posted to the internet. “He picked up one piece and tried to give some advice on how to mix and match,' said his granddaughter, according to the Daily Mail. 'We thought it was fun so we started shooting.”

And Xianping couldn’t be more thrilled that the photos were a hit. 'Why unacceptable for someone like me to wear women’s clothes? Modelling for the store is helping my granddaughter and I have nothing to lose,' he said.

'We were very happy on the day of the shooting. I’m very old and all that I care about is to be happy.'

Since the photos emerged, sales from the store have increased 500%, says the Daily Mail.
