Intensely contoured cheekbones have no place at the beach. For Emily VanCamp's fresh-faced look, Amy Nadine layered a cream bronzer with the soft peach Kevyn Aucoin Creamy Glow blush in Euphoria ($24;barneys.com), blending from the apples of her cheeks to the highest corners of her cheekbones for a natural flush.

A striped beach tote, oversized shades, and a bright manicure are all you need to get set for summer. Tangerine is Pantone's Color of the Year -- the punchy shade flatters all skin tones, and instantly brightens up any look. Try: A Berry Stain

Heavy, matte lip colors and high shine gloss can feel too dramatic for sunny summer days. Opt instead for a long-wearing berry stain like Kate Bosworth's. Her makeup artist Amy Nadine started using the ultra-moisturizing Tarte Lip Tints ($24; tartecosmetics.com) after another client, actress Krysten Ritter, wanted to find an alternative to lip glosses and lipsticks.

The heady fragrances you spritzed on in the fall may be too intense for summer, so pick a lighter scent as the temperature heats up. We love a dramatic eye but during the summer, complement your sun-kissed skin with a gilded shadow like Jessica Pare's. To give her look the Midas touch, Nadine used Chanel's Quadra Eye Shadow in Eclosion ($58; chanel.com). "To give the color more intensity and staying power, I dampened my eye shadow brush before applying the gold shade along the upper and lower lash lines," she said.
