Most requested cuts and colors by city

Now that the New Year is here, there's no better time to take the leap then with a fresh hairstyle. We've racked the brains of the country's top stylists and found the most coveted celebrity manes by city. From Kim Kardashian's glossy brunette locks in Boston to Lauren Conrad's "sombre" strands down in Atlanta, find out which looks are the hottest in your area!

Marie Robinson Salon, New York City

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen Next Slide

Avoid hitting the salon every two weeks with a grown-out golden hue like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. "Mary-Kate and Ashley's blonde, with a little shadow at the root, has been a popular request," Viscuso told us. "The darker root adds a little edge to the look."

Previous Slide Karlie Kloss Next Slide

Karlie Kloss' low-manetenance cut looks great on all hair types. This choppy style adds volume to thinner strands while the long layers make coarse hair more manageable. "Our clients have been requesting a mid-length, textured bob like Karlie's," stylist Jessica Gillen told InStyle.com. "It's a very '90s looking style."

Previous Slide Gwyneth Paltrow Next Slide

Gwyneth Paltrow's classic, coveted locks will never go out of style. "Blondes continue to follow Gwyneth's lead by requesting a honey-golden hue," colorist Tracey Cunningham told InStyle.com.

Previous Slide Emma Stone Next Slide

We're not surprised that Emma Stone's signature auburn locks are one of the most desired shades in Hollywood. "Redheads will ring in the New Year with intense, vibrant reds," Cunningham told us. "This look fits with all skin tones."

Previous Slide Jessica Biel Next Slide

"Brunettes will continue to rock the ombre trend into 2013," Cunningham told InStyle.com. "Think Jessica Biel's rose gold tips; it's a look for all seasons."

Anita Kurl, Boston

Previous Slide Anne Hathaway Next Slide

"A lot of younger clients have been asking for Anne Hathaway's layered bob," Parco told us. "They're looking for a short, natural colored 'do with lots of shine."

Previous Slide Blake Lively Next Slide

There is non-stop gossip about Blake Lively's desired coif. "Blonde's have always loved Blake's cut and color," Parco told us.

Frederic Fekkai, Palm Beach

Previous Slide Rihanna Next Slide

"Clients requesting shorter styles look toward Rihanna for inspiration," Creative Director Philippe Bar told InStyle.com. If you're going for a drastic change, Barr suggests bringing a variety of pictures the style you're looking for.

Previous Slide Katy Perry Next Slide

Ring in the New Year with a party-ready sculpted style. "Clients with long hair have been requesting a coiffed look to mimic Katy Perry's fifties pin-up hair," Barr told us.

Previous Slide Jessica Alba Next Slide

Jessica Alba's chestnut strands maintain an enviable rich hue. "Clients with long hair like Jessica's natural and wavy hair because it's natural and chic at the same time," Creative Director Alexandre Chouery told InStyle.com.

Darker roots in blonde don't add 'edge' ; they look unkempt, sloppy, and careless.

I'm sorry to the editors and writers at MSN Living, I couldn't help notice a grammatical error. On the first sentence of the first picture with the Olsen twins, it's than* not then*...

"Now that the New Year is here, there's no better time to take the leap *than* with a fresh hairstyle"

Sorry, I'm a stickler for grammar!  Great post though!!

I just went to get a haircut (I am over 50 and my hair is to my butt) and told the stylist, do whatever you want.  She cut 2 inches off.  No one could tell I got a cut.  (Except it is now 2 inches from my butt)  My husband could not tell I got it cut.  I guess that is how you can tell it is a good stylist you look the same walking out as you did walking in.

Why do you only show young actresses hair? Is there no great over-50 hair?

This is absolutely free, very easy all you need is an internet facility.

for full details see my blog at www.work-at-homefre.yolasite.com

I have been using this system for some time now; I will be showing you how to make unlimited cash with your liberty reserve account and a perfect money account. I will try to make it as short as possible. But clear, just like every other business your interest and seriousness counts.

"The reward for hard work is success".

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS.

1. open a liberty reserve account at www.libertyreserve.com ( this is free).

2. Open a perfect money account at www.perfectmoney.com (this is free).

3. Fund your liberty reserve account with a minimum of 11 USD, because of transaction charges, actually you needed a minimum of 10 USD.

(Note: To fund or sell your liberty reserve, go to www.google.com to search for an e-currency exchanger close to you.)

4. Go to www.softxchanger.com , and exchange 10 USD from your liberty reserve account to your perfect money account.

1 LR------>1.28 PM, so 10 LR----> 12.80 PM.

5. Go to www.superchange.ru or www.swapgold.com , exchange 12.80 Perfect money to 11.01liberty reserve.

1 PM ----> 0.86 LR, so 12.80 PM--->11.01 LR. You have gain 1.01 USD.

6. Repeat the exchange process from LR---->PM--->LR.

You can always increase your capital, because the more money you exchange the faster u make your cash. I can make up to 257 USD per day. Doing up to 25 exchanges per hour. But there is also no harm in starting small.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

Here's the fact on short hair girls, guys hate it. In fact, pretty much everyone hates it. Nothing says "I just don't care anymore" than the soccer mom haircut. Your friends tell you "it's cute", "you're brave", and "I'm so jealous that you can get away with that". But  your friends are lying to you... and you know it. Because you lie to them too.

The mop headed bangs look of Jessica Biel, Taylor Swift, and so many others, as well as the extreme chopped cuts like that of Anne Hathaway, should not be encouraged. With the bangs trend needs to go, it robs people of a major way of expressing themselves, their eyebrows. These styles should go out with all things high waisted, and throw skinny jeans out along with them.

Ladies if you are interested in dating men or married to a man, do not get Anne's hair.  Guys do not like short hair.  Would you like a man in a pink dress every day?  No!  If you like women, then by all means do it.
