30 New Holiday Party Hair Ideas
Let hair fall naturally for a messy, zigzag part. Wrap five- to six-inch sections around a large, clamp-free iron to create haphazard curls. Finish with a spritz of saltwater spray, then finger-comb.
Use curly hair texture to your advantage: Work moisturizing cream through wet hair and let air-dry. Run a small dab of the same cream through your hands and smooth out any frizzies.
Chloé, fall 2010
To get your layers to flick outward, affix large, one-and-a-half-inch Velcro rollers on top of each two-inch section of hair instead of underneath; roll upward toward your face.
Straight with Texture
Follow the steps to get the smooth and bouncy Chloé look. Once hair is out of Velcro rollers, create a middle part with your fingers; lightly run a flatiron over the bottom five inches of your hair.
Blow-dry your hair with a round brush. Push it back so it falls naturally, and lightly tease the crown to create a halo of flyaways. Mist hair with a texturizing spray, and wrap the ends around a curling iron for a couple of seconds to create a slight bend.
Start with middle-parted straight hair. Pull back the front four-inch section of hair from both sides and secure with pins at the nape. Use shine serum to smooth strands and make the ends piecey.
Proenza Schouler, fall 2010
Work a texturizing cream through damp hair with your fingers, then mist with a beach spray. Roughly blow-dry using your hands, twisting small, one-inch sections around your finger. Shake it all out once dry.
Braid: Pretty Plaits
Start with a deep side part. Using randomly sized pieces, French-braid the larger section of the hair beginning at the hairline. Once the braid reaches the nape, combine it with the section of hair from the other side, anchoring into a low bun.
Spritz a volumizer at the roots, then blow-dry the hair roughly. Tease the hair from forehead to crown and smooth the top layer of hair over. French-braid from the center middle of the head to the ends. Secure with an elastic band.
Take a Bow
Blow-dry your hair while brushing it back and away from the face. Pull the hair to one side and braid beginning at ear level. Finish by securing the braid with a piece of fabric, wide ribbon, or scarf tied in a bow.
