Worst cringe-worthy style & beauty fashions of 2012

German artist Iris Schieferstein helped fashion weirdos gallop straight into the Crazy Lady Hall of Fame in stilettos made from real horse feet -- for just $6,000 a pair. Like, whoa.

As a conceptual statement about women suffering for so-called beauty, these shoes are an unqualified success. As a contribution to actual fashion? They only lived up to half of their name.

When a neon-yellow wig is the most tasteful and flattering part of your outfit, maybe it's time to do some soul searching.

The best thing that can be said about this collection is that the hats are so ugly the clothes almost look good by comparison. Almost.

It's like Michael Kuluva grabbed a bolt of every color tulle he could find, hot-glued it to the model, and then shoved her down the runway. They should have stayed home and just danced instead.

Dolce & Gabbana claimed that these blackface images were inspired by icons of ancient Moors that one can still see in Italy to this day. To which most citizens of the 21st century replied, "So what? It's still totally racist and offensive, guys."

A good rule of thumb: If you have to ask, "Is this racist or offensive?" The answer is probably yes.

2012 will be remembered for two things: a brutal U.S. presidential election and wacky shoes. Miuccia Prada one-upped the competition and combined two pairs of wacky shoes (leather tabi socks and platform sandals) into one avant-garde package in her otherwise stunning Resort 2013 collection. Way to step it up, M.P.

Peachoo Krejberg ruffled a few feathers with these gigantic, face-obscuring add-ons to an otherwise lovely collection.
