21 style don’ts to live by
Meeting the parents: DON’T pile on trend after trend.
There’s a time and a place for edgy, fashion-forward outfits. Unless these folks are seriously unconventional, this is probably not it.
Child’s birthday party: DON’T wear something too precious.
Chances are there will be plenty of paint, toys, and even barnyard animals around. Hide your silks!
Working out: DON’T wear your boyfriend’s duds.
Wearing something too baggy will not only get in the way of your workout (yikes!), it’ll hide your gorgeous bod. Our vote: Show off those hard-earned curves.
Your bachelorette party: DON’T feel required to go out with props.
If you’re not a props kind of girl, that’s OK. A cool hair accessory or bold lipstick and your most flattering LBD will let everyone know that it’s your special day—no sashes, tiaras, or suggestive plastic jewelry required.
Your wedding anniversary: DON’T be afraid to go all out.
Hey, if you can’t wear that smoking-hot designer dress tonight, when can you?!
Your high school reunion: DON’T force it.
Sure, you want to look great at your reunion, but don’t wear something uncomfortable or un-you if it’s just to impress your childhood frenemies.
A wedding: DON’T wear white.
Under no circumstances should you wear white to a wedding that’s not yours. Unless, of course, you want the bride to give you the death stare.
A football game: DON’T lose your sense of style.
The varsity jacket couldn’t be any hotter right now. Pick up one of Rag & Bone’s colorful options and you’ll be the most stylish lady at the game.
A 5K race: DON’T wear your brand-new gear.
Like a new pair of heels, your running shoes might unexpectedly rub you the wrong way during the first wear, so be sure to break ‘em in before race day.
A European vacation: DON’T dial down the romance.
It’s Europe! Be chic! Channel your inner Carrie Bradshaw by wearing your most fabulous dresses, heels, and everything in between. OK, at least for one dinner.
