We Asked Celebrities: ‘What’s In Your Beach Bag?’
Gabrielle Union
"Neutrogena's Sunblock -- 100!" the actress told InStyle.com. "I like the spray on kind because it's easy to reapply." Good tip!
Olivia Munn
Munn has a long list: "Sunscreen -- any kind. I'm not really picky about the sunscreen. Plus, a pair of sunglasses and a hat. And snack! I like to carry different snacks in lots of ziplocks." She added, "Lots of books and magazines, and a charger for my phone. You always use your phone at the beach and when you go back, the battery is always dead." So true!
Jennifer Morrison
Morrison likes to make sure she protects her alabaster complexion. "I'm so fair that I have lots of sunblock and hats. I'm always like a grandma covered up at the beach. I'm like, 'Really! There is a cute bathing suit under all of these layers that are keeping me out of the sun,'" she joked.
Ellie Kemper
"Sunblock. It's cool to take care of your skin," Kemper told us. She added, "I'm too embarrassed to tell you the book I'm reading, but I always bring a book. It's actually not 50 Shades of Gray. I haven't read that yet, but I need to. I'll read that one privately."
Cobie Smulders
The How I Met Your Mother star packs for two: "A lot of sunscreen. And I have a daughter, so sand pails and shovels and snacks and water. It's a heavy beach bag -- more like a backpack."
Jason Wu
The designer packs a precise kit: "Suntan lotion, a towel, a cell phone, and five of my favorite magazines."
Kelly Bensimon
"I usually have a towel and mascara, because I feel you should never go anywhere without mascara. I also bring shimmery oil like the Nars one, because if I'm going to be at the beach, I might as well go for it. If I'm not using that, I'll use Maui Babe, which actually has coffee in it to enhance the tan," the Real Housewives star told us. "My beach bag is pretty big. It's actually a carry-on!"
Jordana Brewster
The Dallas actress keeps to the basics: "A towel, a ziplock bag to put an old bathing suit in, SPF 50 for the face, and water."
Cody Horn
"Music and a good book," she said. And her trick to the perfect tan? "Banana Boat dry tanning oil SPF 4. If you reapply it every fifteen minutes, it gives you the best tan!"
Genesis Rodriguez
"Two things and I'm set: My iPod and an SPF 50 from Coppertone. That's how I tan," she told us.
