The Best-Dressed Decade 2000-2010
“I love clothes,” First Lady Michelle Obama told Vogue in 2009. “I want women to feel good about themselves and have fun with fashion.” Obama has brought to the White House a sense of stle excitement not been since the Kennedy’s Camelot. She has summed up the best of the decade’s fashion, showcasing the work of America’s thrilling young designers as well as European and Japanese mavericks, and proved the democratization of fashion with her sophisticated high-street choices.
Having fun with clothes characterizes the women chosen by Vogue as the best dressed of this past decade, women whose approach to dressing up--or down--has been joyous and celebratory as they wore the best of a giddy, eclectic ten years of design.
