I hate the way women want to slut up Halloween!! It's supposed to be scary, not playmate! Being female, it disgusts me the way the majority of women want to look like a complete hooker for Halloween.

Met Gala: The best theme dressing throughout the years

Each spring we look forward to the opulent red-carpet display that takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute Gala and the dresses that will grace its steps the first Monday in May. The evening is never short on grandeur, but there’s always a few artistically minded guests who go the extra mile and dress with the year’s exhibit wholeheartedly in mind—donning a look that not only impresses but more than tips its perfectly considered hat to the theme. From Hamish Bowles’ tartan tuxedo in homage to Alexander McQueen to Kate Moss in a gold-lame Marc Jacobs frock and matching turban embodying the concept of Model as Muse, we pay tribute to those who creatively and elegantly elevate the dress code.

  • Emma Stone

Best Met Gala looks of all time

Beyonce’s feathered ombre Givenchy, Kate Moss’s golden turban, Sarah Jessica Parker’s tartan Alexander McQueen, Elle Macpherson in flats!—if you know your red-carpet history, you’ll know exactly what we’re talking about. Every year, the most stunning, most avant-garde, and most talked-about clothes make their way up the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the biggest fashion event of the year: the Costume Institute Gala. Here, we bring you our slideshow of the most unforgettable looks from the ball of all time.
