Valentine's Day gifts for your guy

Appeal to your man’s softer side with something that will keep him warm when he’s not snuggling you. The fuzzy bathrobe is a classic loungewear (or snoozewear) item for guys, especially when woven from flannel, fleece, terry cloth or waffle-weave, and emblazoned with traditional patterns like tartan and plaid.

When you want to get a little more "hands on" with your Valentine’s Day gift, offer your personal services as a massage therapist. No man, no matter how macho, will turn down the offer. Massage oils and lotions in brisk, masculine scents like eucalyptus, peppermint, musk and tea tree will soften up that tough guy.

Silk pajamas are a sexy and totally indulgent present, and a perfectly appropriate gift for Valentine’s Day. Choose black or other darker colors (green, blue, brown). You'll like the way he feels in these just as much as he does, and if you get him a pair in washable silk, so much the easier.

Tuck a couple of photos into a pair of these clever cufflinks and stay (at least symbolically) super-close to his pulse points. Tiny lockets of stainless steel or silver hold small images, a wisp of your hair or anything else you can think of as a talisman of your mutual tenderness.

Ice isn't so nice when it dilutes his favorite 15-year-old scotch. Oh man, I feel a rant coming on.
I think the main problem is, is that these gifts are listed as a Valentine's day gifts when some of them just don't seem appropriate - either for the 'Day of Love' or for your boyfriend/husband/significant other.

#1. Bathrobe - More of a Christmas gift, only way it would ever be a good Valentine's Day gift is if the gift was YOU in a sexy silk bathrobe - paired with #2 The Massaging Kits and/or #9 The Karma Sutra Kit.

#2. Massaging Kit - Acceptable Valentine's Day girft, but only if you are actually GOOD at giving massages. Otherwise, it's just going to be a mess.

#3. Shaving Kit - This is something you would give to your dad or grandpa for father's day/birthday. Not for your partner - unless they are a barber.

#4. Retro Candy Gift Box - Now this is where I am going to be bias, because I have a big sweet tooth and I would prefer awesome retro candy over crappy Valentine's Day chocolates -cough-RussellStover-cough-

#5. Couples Photo Frame - ... NO. Just. No.

#6. Silk Pajamas - I'm agreeing with RyGuy76 here, NO MAN - STRAIGHT OR GAY - WANT SILK PAJAMAS. I've gotten silk pajams before, they are the most uncomfortable, ungodly thing ever made for men. They just don't feel right, if you're going to go with ANYTHING made from silk, refer back to #1.

#7. Locket Cufflinks - Again, something more suited for a different holiday. Father's day would be the best, it just seems more like a gift a child would give to their father.

#8. Whiskey Stones Gift Set - All you have to do is look at the reviews - and KJay65's comment - to know that these aren't great. They're are nice looking, but if they don't do what they are suppose to do, it's a flop. You're better off with getting your whiskey lover a nice aged bottle of whiskey!

#9. Karma Sutra Kits - Adventurous in bed? Need to add a little spice to your love life? Both of you are physically fit and you are super flexable? This is the gift to get. If you didn't answer the thrid question with 'yes', don't get it, you're just begging for a muscle cramp.

#10. Tungsten bracelets - Now this one peaked my interests. It's very nice looking, masculine but stylish and holds up to rough activities but not a vary good Valentine's day gift. If it was a watch as well, then it might be a more acceptable gift for your love one.

Okay, just the fact that whoever did this labled these next few for 'Nerds' is what got me in the ranting mood, because I'm a nerd and these gifts are pretty insulting.

#11. Personalized boxers - What do I say about these? They are a HORRIBLE gift idea. Let's not mention how creepy it is if you got 'Mr. Right' boxers from you girlfriend/boyfriend when you've only been in a relationship for less than a year. -shiver- Also, I think awesome nerdy boxers - superheroes/video game/tv/etc - should be a birthday gift.

#12. Tech Gloves - NO. Normal gloves work just fine, you shouldn't even be outside with technology for extensive amounts of time, and, oh yeah, THESE ARE A HORRIBLE VALENTINE'S DAY GIFT IDEA.

#13. Gameboy iPhone cases - I'd rather get a real Game Boy Color. And also, still not a good Valentine's Day gift. Did the person that did this just think 'What would nerds like?' in general instead of something you would give your nerdy significant other?

#14. Tingler head massagers - ... I'm not even going to beam this with a rant.

#15. Casual bow ties - Yes, bow ties are cool - if your man-nerd is a Doctor Who fan, get them some nice bow ties, otherwise, no.

I gave up ranting on the last 5 because these are horrible all together; both as a Valentine's Day gift, or any sort of gift for your nerd.

If you know your significant other well, you'll know just what to get him, if not, go with the candy, or a nice dinner, a movie and just being with each other, it's not that hard to figure out what to do for your man, we aren't picky.

Sorry folks, BUT DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE about these stones.  I have the small set shown in the picture, and wrote a complaint to the compnay. Then they sent me the larger ones and they still are not good.  They put a very small chill on your bourbon, whiskey, blend or whatever your preference may be.  I like certain ones a little more chilled than these stones can provide. I have learned to just go without ice or chilling period!!!  Was periodically doing no ice at all previous to my purchase of these stones but thought they were pretty cool to have. I was wrong. If you use more than one, depending on the size of your glass, it may work better. I like my glass to have my choice of beverage instead of stones or ice. :)

@Soll. ..... I completely agree with you, Soll.!!  I'm a Gay Man and I would NOT even like these gifts... including the "Silk Pajamas".  I'm gay, but NOT that gay!!  So, I'm pretty sure NO straight man wants to wear them either.  LOL!!

I know your Man would rather have the $5 Gift Card to McDonald's versus ANY item from this list!!  I guarantee a Queenie Gay Guy, or a Lonely Woman put this list together!!  I'd bet my life on it.

And like they always say Soll. .... "The way to a Man's Heart is through his Stomach!!"  LOL!!  You're definitely a Smart Woman!! = )
