2013's best Halloween costumes for couples
Spooky: Zombie pirate couple
This year’s selection of the best duo disguises include the expected zombie teams and vampire couples, as well as getups that get laughs and twosomes who’ve made history. — by Shannon McCarthy
Two hot Halloween costume trends combine to make one ghoulishly great getup when you sail the spooky seas together in undead style. Pirates are always a popular costume choice, but add the current craze for all things zombie and the two of you will bring new meaning to the phrase “dead man’s chest.”
Spooky: Vampire and vampiress
Bing | Vampire and vampiress
Pledge your, ahem, undying love as a pair of bloody gorgeous vampires. There are a variety of macabre moods: Victorian undead, Goth glam, steampunk style and more. You could even do a mash-up and slink into the party as good ol’ Dracula and campy-sexy Elvira.
Spooky: Witch and warlock
Bing | Witch and warlock
It’s time to make a little magic together as a supernatural team. You’ll practice a few dark arts (and maybe win a few costume contests) in these duos. Pointy hats, long robes – even long grey beards for the guys – take the traditional route, while more revealing costumes put a spell on everyone come Halloween.
Spooky: Ghostly couple
Bing | Ghostly couple
Boy meets ghoul in this haunting Halloween combo. And while a simple white bed sheet will do for kids, adults should kick it Victorian style. Ghost couple costumes offer enough musty and moldy-looking duds, tattered hats, messy veils and other spooky wardrobe touches to get you two on the “Worst Dressed List.”
Spooky: Sally and Jack Skellington
Bing | Sally and Jack Skellington
A beloved – yet still fabulously creepy – holiday movie, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” introduced us to our favorite Halloween couple, Sally and Jack Skellington. Pay tribute to their spooky-sweet love story in costumes that capture Sally’s rag doll charm and Jack’s dapper wardrobe and toothy grin.
Funny: Peanut butter and jelly
Bing | Peanut butter and jelly
Spread the joy this Halloween in a costume combo that are actually sold in a pair. (Really, we can’t see any singleton dressing up as a piece of toast.) Easy-wearing tunics are the bread slices, while realistic looking toppings on each mean all you two have to do is hug and lunch is served.
Funny: Fork and spoon
Bing | Fork and spoon
You and your partner will have a good tine, and scoop up lots of compliments, as this pair of practical household items. While there are plenty of super-sized food items you could go as for Halloween, we really like the implementation of this shiny duo. (All you need for the party is Mack the Knife.)
Funny: Red Riding Hood and Granny Wolf
Who’s afraid of the big, bad wolf? Certainly not sexy Red Riding Hood: She’s too fierce for fear, even if that “Granny” is looking a little “ruff” around the edges. Gals get to rock that super-cute gingham apron dress and short n’ sassy hooded cape, while dudes go all beastly.
Funny: Tacky Travelers
Bing | Tacky Travelers
You’ll look like a “coupla swells” dressed as this dowdy duo, one of the truly scariest costumes we’ve seen for this Halloween. (Seriously, at least vampires are sexy and zombies are cool.) Hilariously detailed, this costume screams poor taste, and let’s everyone know you’re just here for the buffet.
Funny: Luigi and Princess Peach
Bing | Luigi and Princess Peach
Get your Halloween game on as Super Mario’s brother Luigi and the Mushroom Kingdom’s royal highness Princess Peach. Both are kitted out in loud colors just as in the video game, and both her crown and his comically oversized mustache are included.
