The locked-and-loaded weekend bag
I’ve done both and the result’s always the same: I’m frazzled, so I end up packing a completely non-sensical weekend bag with one bikini, two pairs of ridiculous stilettos, six just-in-case sweaters and no pants.
Bing: Printed dress
No more getting somewhere and kicking yourself for not having a proper dress to wear. This one's easy to dress down or up, depending on the occasion.
Printed dress, $89.90, Zara.com
Bing: Nina heel
Unlike black heels, which can look sort of harsh with bright summer dresses and lightweight fabrics, these can pair with your dark jeans and your floral minidress just as naturally. (Plus, they're a little fresher-feeling than nude heels.)
"Nina" heel, $49, C-label, Piperlime.com
Bing: Waffle waterfall jacket
You'll want a just-in-case layer that can be casual with jeans and a tank or go more formal when worn over a dress. This one's not crepe-y like a lot of blazers are, so it won't wrinkle if you keep it packed full-time.
Waffle waterfall jacket, $100, Topshop.com
Bing: Buckled open toe sandals
With jeans, with shorts, with dresses. You'll wear them all weekend. Honestly, at this price you might as well have multiple pairs.
Buckled open toe sandals, $19.80, Forever21.com
Bing: Slim jeans
Well, duh: you need jeans, and it's probably best to keep a classic, understated pair in your go-bag.
Slim jeans, $49.99, Mango.com
Bing: British dress
The easiest throw-on-and-go dress.
British dress, $99, Three Dots, Piperlime.com
Maybe you end up forgetting your bronzer, but who cares? This kit has a ton in it for the price, so it's what we'd keep stashed as default weekend makeup. A pretty lip and defined eye will take you far.
The headliners collection, $42, Buxom, Sephora.com
Bing: Ribbed tank
To sleep? To workout? To wear with jeans and Converse? To wear with heels and a statement jacket? You decide.
Basic ribbed tank, $12, Topshop.com
