Churches and venues book up fast and popular ones can book up to 2 years in advance. At least that gives you time to save for the day. My spouse and I weren't that fortunate--he enlisted in the Army right after we got engaged so we had a justice of the peace marry us in his parent's garden. The meal afterward was catered by our local supermarket and our cake was made by a friend of the family who decorated wedding cakes as a hobby. Pictures were by my brother-in-law and the music we danced to out on their back deck was provided by a boom box. We've been happily married for 20 years.
