Find a wedding venue

Your venue will influence every decision you make, from your color scheme to the style of your dress, so lock it down early. The key is finding one that meshes with your vision (black-tie ballroom, modern minimalist, etc.). And don't be afraid to think beyond the banquet hall.

Taking into consideration you have the money to do all this.  There are a million and one decisions to be made. There are also a million things to pay for. Considering the average wedding costs anywhere from $60,000 to over $100,000 you have to take all kinds of things into consideration.  Do you have student loans to pay off? Are you renting or would you like a home of your own? Do you want to start a family in the very near future? You may not get the wedding of your dreams, unless of course your parents saved for your college education from the moment you were conceived and are also footing the bill for the wedding and honeymoon. If that's the case, you have to move fast to get the church/venue where you want to get married and book your honeymoon.  Churches and venues book up fast and popular ones can book up to 2 years in advance.  At least that gives you time to save for the day. My spouse and I weren't that fortunate--he enlisted in the Army right after we got engaged so we had a justice of the peace marry us in his parent's garden. The meal afterward was catered by our local supermarket and our cake was made by a friend of the family who decorated wedding cakes as a hobby.  Pictures were by my brother-in-law and the music we danced to out on their back deck was provided by a boom box.  We've been happily married for 20 years.  Having the wedding of your dreams means nothing if your marriage is a nightmare.  The wedding is one day---marriage should be for the rest of your life.
