4 of the scariest marriage proposals

If asking someone to spend their whole life with you isn't scary enough, some guys have kicked the fear factor up a notch, making it a downright horrifying experience. Proving that romance certainly isn't dead, here are some of the most petrifying proposals of all time! By Kristin Wong

A wild ride

Ryan, a pilot from Chicago, decided to pop the question to his girlfriend, Carrie, by faking a plane crash. During the proposal, he led his beloved to believe they were pummeling to certain death.

Reading off the emergency checklist, Carrie realized it was an elaborate stunt when she got to: "initiate ring engagement procedure."
Somehow, she managed to swallow her stomach long enough to say yes.

Surprise! I'm not dead

Alexey, a stuntman from Russia, faked his own death in a horrifying car crash. His girlfriend, Irena, showed up at the bloody (but completely phony) site. After an actor/paramedic told Irena that Alexey was dead, she burst into tears.

Alexey then stood up, covered in fake blood, and asked her to marry him.

Irena said yes, but she revealed: "I was so cross I almost killed him again, but for real this time."

Really bad catch

While standing on the edge of a several story building, Josh gathered his friends and girlfriend, Brooke, to make a big announcement

"I think it's about time I ask her a very important question," he said, as Brooke braced herself.

"Bobby, the ring please," Josh commanded, as a small box was tossed in his direction. But instead of catching it, he fumbled backwards, falling off the side of the building. Brooke screamed in terror, then ran to the edge.

She found John at the bottom, his fall broken by a planted air rescue cushion, along with signs, reading: "Will You Marry Me?"

She must be in love and crazy to say yes during that wild ride, I would have said land first and then I'll answer, then once we landed I would have given him a hearty "HELL NO!".

the first two are more cruel and an awful way to go, and I do believe the third one was actually an ad for something (basically it wasn't real), and the fourth? I suppose if caught off guard I'd be terrified too ;o
