5 Signs a Guy Is Toxic

It can be hard to read a new guy at first -- some men come across like Ryan Gosling early on, only to morph into Charlie Sheen down the road. But Lillian Glass, PhD, author of 'Toxic Men: 10 Ways to Identify, Deal with, and Heal from the Men Who Make Your Life Miserable', swears you can avoid shady dudes if you keep an eye out for these negative body-language cues.

...He won't meet your eye. Guys who have a history of cheating often ooze signs of deception, like refusing to meet your eye, smiling at other women when you're talking, or being vague about details.

...He touches you a lot. Men who aren't comfortable with themselves can be too needy, and touching your arm, shoulders, and back a ton subconsciously signals that he's trying to grab onto you. These guys look down a lot, too.

...He's in your personal space without being invited. Controlling dudes also tend to be loud and make big body movements to indicate that they're calling the shots (in their minds, at least).

...He walks in front of you. Guys who charge ahead subconsciously signal that they expect you to keep up with them. Not walking anywhere with him? Keep an eye out for preening gestures, like smoothing his hair back a lot or sneaking glances at his reflection in the mirror behind the bar. Also, be wary of men who say "I" a lot—it's a sign that he's No. 1 on his priority list.

Geez... what is the Phd type thinking? She must've used a bunch of Northeast (sorry about Sandy) Emo, elite, weenie types for her for her "hypothesis". So of those guys are are so shy, they never look at ANYONE. Ever wonder why women have so many cheating stories? Three reasons: First, there's no common thread with cheaters, they come in all flavors. Two, many women think denying their men makes them more womanly or that they don't have obligations to satisfy and please men sexually. Net result: Man gets it elsewhere. Three, women have a very "flexible" definition of cheating. They can touch themselves to 50 shades but men are pigs if we wanna see "Nailin Palin" for the 50th time. Both are fantasies tailor made to the gender.

All the skilled players never do what item one says, that's why there's a fresh new batch of victims in every socioeconomic strata. Women calling the shots have "Dick Cheney'd" themselves..

I kind of agree with the touchy one. I bumped into a guy that knew me becuase he had seen me a lot. He was very touchy, too touchy for my comfort. It went from hugs, to pinches, to strokes. Had I let him continued, he would have touched me at the wrong spot, earning him broken teeth. I finally told him to back off and he never said another word to me again. This may not have suggested that he'd cheat, but I got the picture loud and clear that he wasn't interested in a relationship, but that I was just something he'd rather enjoy for a couple of nights until he's tired of me.
