5 Postpartum romance boosters \\ Photo: Veer

Between breastfeeding and post-baby belly bulge, it's total normal to not feel like your sexy self after giving birth. "You have to be realistic about romance post-baby," says Dorian Solot, mom of a two month old and co-author of I Love Female Orgasm: An Extraordinary Orgasm Guide. But don't give up on it entirely. Here's how to get yourself back on track.

1. Bring sexy back

Schedule some me-time. Book a waxing appointment, put on makeup or lingerie — whatever will boost your sexual confidence. Pepper Schwartz, Ph.D., author of The Great Sex Weekend, suggests wearing something silky to bed to get in the mood.

2. Take five

Yes, multi-tasking comes with motherhood, but you have to know when to take a break. "Sometimes the most romantic gift a new dad can give his partner is to take care of the baby so you can take a shower or a nap," says Solot.

3. Prioritize

How do you expect to think about romance when your mind is consumed with everything but. "If you want sex to happen, you really have to schedule it, and be willing to let go of some of the other things you were hoping to cram into the day," says Solot.

4. Make a date

Don't forget to have fun together. Cuddle up on the couch with NetFlix or start planning a getaway for the future.

5. Redefine romance

Rather than trying to re-create what worked when there were only two of you, redefine romance. "With a new baby, sometimes a better goal is to find sweet ways to share love as a family, even if that's just hanging out in your bed with the little one," says Solot.
