12 Shades of Gray: Hollywood’s Sexiest Silver Foxes
Dermot Mulroney
We’ve had a thing for Dermot Mulroney ever since he played the slightly wounded (but totally hot!) Michael O’Neal in My Best Friend’s Wedding. But it’s his most recent gig as Zooey Deschanel’s love interest on New Girl that makes us want to run our hands through his salt-and-pepper hair.
George Clooney
There’s a reason women all around the world have fallen for George Clooney. Besides being utterly charming, talented, and handsome, Clooney has that perfectly styled coif that brings out the old-Hollywood sex appeal we just can’t resist.
John Slattery
Jon Hamm may get most of the Mad Men attention, but it’s John Slattery’s Roger Sterling—and his bespoke suits—who gets us all hot and bothered. So what if he played a politician with a sex fetish on Sex and the City? His cunning charisma more than makes up for it.
Alec Baldwin
OK, so technically he’s more of a brunette fox than a silver one. But between Alec Baldwin’s many SNL hosting gigs (remember him as the long-lost Jonas Brother, Gary Jonas?) and his pitch-perfect performance as Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock, we’d be happy to play Word With Friends with him any day.
Anderson Cooper
Anderson Cooper’s nickname is “the Silver Fox,” so it’s only fitting that he make our list of favorites. We can’t get enough of his unabashed love for Bravo shows, his piercing blue eyes (made only more dreamy by his hair), and his adorable giggle fits.
Matt LeBlanc
Hey, Matt, how you doin’? We’ll always have a soft spot for Matt LeBlanc’s sandwich-and-women-loving Joey Tribbiani on Friends, but did you know he dyed his hair for the entire run of the series? We’re happy that LeBlanc’s new role—as an insecure version of himself—on Showtime’s Episodes lets his natural color and personality shine through.
Aidan Quinn
With his silver locks and disarming pale blue eyes, Aidan Quinn makes us wonder if we’ve had this tall, dark, and handsome thing all wrong. Quinn’s roles in shows such as Weeds and Prime Suspect keep us glued to our televisions, but it’s his character Officer Gary Hallet in Practical Magic that has us wishing we could whip up a little love potion of our own.
Jon Stewart
Half the reason we’re obsessed with Jon Stewart is his spot-on, hilarious persona on The Daily Show. The other half is how cute he is while he delivers those clever jokes. One thing’s for sure: Stewart (along with his network-bromance partner Stephen Colbert) is making satire sexy, one well-crafted gag at a time.
If anyone on TV deserves the nickname “McSteamy,” it’s Eric Dane. On Grey’s Anatomy, he makes the cocky, occasionally swarthy plastic surgeon Mark Sloane completely irresistible.
