In February, New York City’s 34,000 police officers received a rather unusual memo: For “simply exposing their breasts in public,” women are guilty of no crime, reports The New York Times.

An Oregon funeral home in Eugene offers natural burials where the ride to the person's final resting place is on the back of a three-wheeled bicycle.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Sunset Hills Cemetery and Funeral Home director Wade Lind says he got the idea from bikers and designed the pedal-powered hearse himself. It has an electric motor to give him a little help hauling the casket.

Microsoft engineer fluent in Klingon creates translator so "Star Trek" fans can translate fictional alien race’s language into 41 languages.

Big news for "Star Trek" fans! If plan to check out “Star Trek Into the Darkness,” Microsoft’s new Bing search engine may come in handy – it now includes Klingon, the fictional alien race’s language, in its web-based translation services. The Klingon translator will also be available on Bing's Windows Phone application.

PARIS (AP) — A French police official says jewelry worth about $1 million has been stolen from a safe in a Cannes hotel room, against the backdrop of the Riviera resort town's film festival.

Cmdr. Bernard Mascarelli, a judicial police spokesman in the nearby city of Nice, said a culprit or culprits ripped the safe out of the wall of the Novotel hotel room overnight where an employee of the Swiss-based watch and jewelry maker Chopard was staying.

 

In all the photos, taken by New York City artist Arne Svenson from his second-floor apartment, the faces are obscured or not shown.

NEW YORK (AP) — In one photo, a woman is on all fours, presumably picking something up, her posterior pressed against a glass window. Another photo shows a couple in bathrobes, their feet touching beneath a table. And there is one of a man, in jeans and a T-shirt, lying on his side as he takes a nap.
