Sleek Statement
After having a plexiglass box made, Dominique hung an inexpensive chandelier from a hook she drilled inside the box. The wires blend into the shag rug and plug into the wall. The tan Eames chair was a $50 flea market find.

Photo Op
Set foot into the couple's pad and you're instantly greeted by family and wedding pics. "It's all about mixing the old and the new," says Dominique. "We love that we're up there on our wedding day surrounded by grandparents and other relatives' wedding portraits from decades ago."

Double-Duty
The bookshelf serves a dual purpose: Besides looking fab, it completely walls off the living area from the couple's bedroom. The framed photo to its left was a wedding gift from a house-sitting pal. "When we came back from our honeymoon, we saw it hanging on the wall and realized our friend had left it for us!" remembers Dominique.

Table for Two
The style is rustic-meets-modern with an open feel that's perfect for entertaining an intimate group of friends. The round Knoll Saarinen table and the two white fiberglass chairs are from Modernica.net, while the other slatted folding chairs were snagged at a flea market for $25. Spicy style note: The three nude sketches were done by a good friend … of his wife. No doubt it makes for interesting dinner party convos!
