A Dynamic Display
In this rural Alabama plantation house by designer Betsy Brown, a huge library table made of a dark walnut slab and curved steel legs sits in the center of the upstairs hall. Cozy English Country House
To turn a barn-like main room into a cozy English country house, designer Bunny Williams broke the space into two seating areas with back-to-back sofas. She opted not to hide the TV. "It's something that's a fact of life, and the technology has gotten really beautiful," she says. "I think it makes the room usable." Library tables from John Rosselli act as end tables. Red lamps by Christopher Spitzmiller and a chandelier from John Rosselli bring light into the middle of the room. Architecture firm Hart Howerton used reclaimed beams and flooring to give the East Hampton guesthouse an old-barn look.
Swedish-Inspired Living Room
The living area in this Long Island cottage by designer David Netto is a seamless blend of rustic and refined. Cozy Screened Porch
