Stupid, silly list. This is NOT the top ten "worst" by any stretch. This is a nonsense list of some unimportant celebs and some semi-famous businesswomen who may have done something that caused some people question their judgment--slightly. (And why would anyone EVER question a celeb's judgment?--he said with tongue in cheek.) But the"worst" moments in mom judgment? Hardly. Though there are many great moms in the world (and great moms are among the MOST important people in the world), there are a lot of evil "mothers" out there, and many more who are just plain BAD.

Time for a reality check. Here are a few actual headlines from 2012 (and there are SO many more):

*  Police: Georgia mom stabs newborn baby to death, possibly just hours after birth.

*  Woman Kills Son, Self at Gun Range

*  Naperville mom kills kids; sparks outrage & anger at American political system.

*  Police: Mother kills 2 children, then gets on a bus.

*  Florida Mom Murders Four Children, Kills Herself.

*  Sheriff: Mother kills 2 kids, then hangs herself.

*  Mom kills 2 kids in attempted murder-suicide, she survives.

*  Dawn Brown, Clearwater Mother, Kills 2 Kids Then Commits Suicide.

*  Second Child Dies After Being Shot by Mother Inside Texas Welfare Office.

*  Moscow mom kills kids by throwing them off 15th-floor balcony.

*  Mother arrested after prostituting her little daughter.

*  Chicago babysitter charged with murdering her son, girl she babysat.

*  Woman charged with child neglect after 2-year-old found on roof.

*  Police: Illinois woman stabs children 150 times, claiming 'devils' inside them.

*  2-year-old boy killed at Pa. zoo exhibit:  PITTSBURGH — A 2-year-old boy visiting the Pittsburgh zoo was killed Sunday morning when he fell off a railing that his MOTHER had put him on top of to view a pack of African painted dogs, who pounced on the child and mauled him, police said.

*  Texas mom who threw kids onto freeway released from jail.

*  Mom of Missing Baby Gabriel May Have Killed Him ... Or Given Him Away to Strangers.

*   Mom kills 7-year-old son and 5-year-old girl to get revenge on inattentive husband - NYPOST.com

*  Pakistani parents say they killed 15-year-old daughter with acid for eyeing boy [but it was actually the MOTHER who threw acid onto her daughter and killed her]:  ISLAMABAD –  A Pakistani couple accused of killing their 15-year-old daughter by pouring acid on her carried out the attack because she sullied the family's honor by looking at a boy, the couple said in an interview broadcast Monday by the BBC. The girl's death underlines the problem of so-called "honor killings" in Pakistan where women are often killed for marrying or having relationships not approved by their families or because they are perceived to have somehow dishonored their family. The girl's parents, Mohammad Zafar and his wife Zaheen, recounted the Oct. 29 incident from jail. The father said the girl had turned to look at a boy who drove by on a motorcycle, and he told her it was wrong. "She said `I didn't do it on purpose. I won't look again.' By then I had already thrown the acid. It was her destiny to die this way," the girl's MOTHER told the British broadcaster.

Absolutely terrible list that does not include anything that I would consider "worst judgement".  Posting a photo of your kid duct taped to a wall? Bad judgement.  Trying to maintain a professional life while being a mother? Sound judgement.  Leaving your child in the car while you run into the store (or bar or whatever)? Terrible judgement.  Nursing your child for an amount of time that you determine to be appropriate (whether or not it is the "norm").  Sound judgement.  I might consider cancelling my Redbook subscription after this one.

***After thoughtful conversation with my friends on Facebook about this article, perhaps the link on the main MSN page and/or the title should be changed &/or clarified.  As one of my friends pointed it, it seems that they are not saying the moms are showing poor judgement, it's that OTHERS judged THEM for those moments.  I still don't like the list and I think the fact that on MSN's main page all you see is: "Bad Mom Moments of 2012" makes readers think they are heading to a very different article so it is read with the mindset that the moms mentioned were the ones having bad moments.***

3 out of the top 10 "worst judgment" moments are the fact that women breastfed their children?!?  Why on earth is it considered bad judgment to feed children the only food that's been specifically designed by nature for them?  These women should be praised for giving their children the best possible nutrition, not to mention the fortitude that it takes to keep at it for 3 years like Mayim.
