Oldie but goodie
While these kids had help from their mom, blogger J. Dix, we still give them credit for their ability to turn a rainy day into a death-defying adventure. For more ideas on how to amuse, entertain and encourage a little chutzpah in your kids, check out Dix’s blog, The Contemplative Creative.
Another gem from Stuff Kids Write. This eight-year-old, bracing herself for an impending move to Europe, wrote down what her American-born self would never tolerate in a future husband, lest she be co-opted by the fashions of her adopted homeland and somehow forgot. The uncontested best part, “I do not want my husband to have a ‘man purse.’”
Now, we’ve seen some pretty great Halloween costumes over the years but this one just might take the cake (or, rather, the chicken).
Don’t worry, she’s ok
This little lady put a new spin on the classic children’s story Rapunzel. But don’t worry, “she’s doing ok in there.”
It’s unclear whether this is supposed to be a self-portrait (let’s hope not), commentary on his/her new teacher or something else entirely, but it’s a good reminder that first impressions count.
