Weighing in at just over 2 pounds, a female pudu was born in early September at the Detroit Zoo to parents T. Roy and Carol.

The threatened pudu, which is native to South America's rainforests, is the smallest of all the deer species, reports Zooborns.

This little girl will likely grow to be only about 26 pounds and 15 inches tall at the shoulder as an adult. Because they live in remote regions at elevations of more than 6,000 feet, little is known about this diminutive deer species.
