Puppy Bowl 2013 to have hedgehog cheerleaders

Over-the-top cuteness factor

By Glamour Magazine Jan 31, 2013 6:01PM

As your official purveyor of puppies here at Glamour (it's in my job description), I thought I had seen it all when it comes to omg-I-can't-handle-it cuteness—cute puppy pics, cute puppy videos, cute kitties, even cute goats—but Animal Planet has gone and announced today something truly amazing: For the first time ever, hedgehogs will be cheerleaders at the Puppy Bowl IX.

I know. I know.

Bing: Superbowl 2013

Ever since my childhood obsession with Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle, hedgehogs have been at the top of my aww-inducing list. Glad to see the people behind Puppy Bowl have caught on as well.

And, even better, here are some adorable pictures of the show to get you excited. Don’t worry, there will still be a kitty halftime show.

Who’s excited? Be sure to tune in on Sunday, Feb. 3 from 3-5 p.m. ET/PT. I know I will!

And let's not forget who's in every photo on your Facebook and Instagram feeds. Sound familiar? We thought so. But in case you still think you're in charge, here are seven classic signs that your dog is the one calling the shots.

9 unusual dog breeds the vet is seeing more of

One of the best things about being a veterinarian is all the different dogs I get to meet. Of course, I love the Labs and Beagles and Boxers and Poodles, not to mention those crazy Canine Cocktails, or what my parents used to call Heinz 57s. They are among the more popular dogs out there, and I see a lot of them. In fact, it used to be that it was rare to see anything else. Here are nine dog breeds I sometimes see now that I didn’t see in the past.
